The original plan was to fly from Hilo (Hawaii) to Kirabati (Christmas Island) then from Kirabati (Christmas Island) to US Samoa, however Jim and Jeremy had to fly from Hawaii to Samoa and miss Christmas Island because there was no fuel on it. That meant another 2,000 mile leg. From Samoa they went on to Norfolk Island.
