celebrity trainer magnus Meet Dane Sorensen

Dane’s became obsessed with Pilates after one mat class at the gym, instantly recognizing it would help with his lines/flexibility. A former Figure Skater/Gymnast, Dane transitioned his skills to the stage, studying musical theater at NYU. He went on to have a diverse career in New York performing at corporate events with TRYON entertainment, touring as a back-up dancer for Drag Queens of Rupauls Drag Race, and as the Dance captain of the famed Flaming Saddles Saloon. He led the gymnastics department at the American Dance and Drama studio, helping hundreds of young dancers to expand their tumbling, leaps, and special skills.

Dane began his fitness career almost on accident, getting requests to train the parents of his dance pupils. Before long he had a number of notable personal training clients in the New York while training at the UES Equinox. He credits his 600 hr classical training under Alyssa Urgano’s Real Pilates program for turning him into the teacher he is today.

Dane’s love for Pilates workouts shines through his classes. His goal is to make his students laugh and sweat simultaneously, while getting the group to sing out to his playlist.
