The drop-tile ceiling space is common in many office environment. Square 2x2' or 2x4' tiles about 1/2 inch tick are made of a lightweight, porous material that sit on a metal grid. The space above the tiles may be anywhere from a few inches to several feet. In this space is where a lot of the infrastructure services run their mediums. Air conditioning, fire sprinklers, low-voltage cabling, Electrical wiring and alarm wires. Work in this space can be difficult or easy depending on the amount of space available. And, how well previous vendors have organized the items they have installed.
